Introduction

The UnknownCompositionOil object calculates the physical properties of a petroleum reservoir oil sample solely from its specific gravity and bubble-point pressure. The object does not make any check for temperature and pressure ranges. Properties, which are calculated as a function of pressure, include:

  • Solution gas-oil ratio, Rso (SCF/STB);
  • Oil compressibility, Co (psia -1);
  • Oil density, ro (lb/ft 3);
  • Oil volume factor, Bo (RB/STB); and
  • Oil viscosity, µo (cp).

 

Installation

The package makes no system changes. To install it, you only need to extract the zip file to a directory in which you want to put the extracted files (perhaps C:\Program Files\UnknownCompositionOil). The package contains the following files:

  • Oil.exe (object client)
  • input.txt (input-data file)
  • readme.pdf

 

Input Data

The input data required by the Unknown Composition Oil object includes the schemes/ methods and the gas data.
